Where does the time go?

Published On: June 26, 2010

I can't believe it's been 3 months since I last made an entry.   Real Estate is keeping me very busy which is good.  When I have any free time, I recharge my batteries by enjoying the beautiful surroundings of my home.  My husband's birthday gift to me was a small pond and waterfall as the centerpiece of a butterfly garden.  I'm now the president of the newest chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society - The Suwannee Valley Chapter - and our first meeting was on butterfly gardening with native plants.  So of course I brought home a selection of plants.  It is absolutely beautiful!  Now bring on the butterflies!!!!!

My other latest "adventure" is that I am having a horse trainer come to the farm once a week.  While the idea is that he is training the horses, I think he really is training me more than them.  Blaze and I had our first adventure out the driveway and onto the dirt road.  We both did really great.  I smile all day long after my weekly "horse school".

Spring is here!!!!!

Published On: March 12, 2010

Yahoo!!!! Spring is finally here.  The dogwoods are starting to bloom and the wild plums are showing up in the woods around our property.  I've spent the last week planting beans, lettuce, onions, squash, watermelon and more out in the "summer garden" and have started a ton of marigold and other summer flower seeds.  One of the best things about living here in North Florida is that just when you think you can't take one more day of winter, you wake up and see the bluebirds and gold finches in the bird feeders.... a sure sign that spring is here.  We're keeping our fingers crossed that there won't be any more hard freezes.
